Customer Service Technician I

On-Site | Full-Time

 

Job Overview

To ensure Bitrode products meet company and customer specifications before being shipped to the customer. Periodic travel to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair Bitrode products.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Testing of manufactured products from pc board component level to final system level
  • Testing of products at power levels up to 600VAC 3-phase and 2000VDC
  • Record data, write reports, and process paperwork accurately
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications as well as any safety and quality requirements
  • Troubleshoot various problems that could occur during course of the tests; requires the tester to think critically to solve complex problems
  • Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise
  • Use of multi-meters, HiPot test equipment, digital oscilloscope, PC based monitoring, and variable transformers
  • Perform other duties as assignedWorks to collect and discuss voice of customer product improvements with engineering/management for product improvements/new product development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct reports
  • Train customers on product use/basic maintenance

Required Skills:

    • Schematic reading and knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry is essential • Schematic reading and knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry is essential
    • Must have mechanical proficiency which includes basic mechanical and assembly concepts
    • Ability to use shop and hand tools to work on equipment
    • Ability to troubleshoot customer issues via email, phone, and onsite
    • Ability to work in a team and independently

Education and Experience:

    • Certificate in Electrical Engineering or similar electrical knowledge
    • 1-3 years of technical experience
    • Previous knowledge and experience with multimeters, voltmeters, HiPot test equipment, and oscilloscope preferred
    • Proficient in Windows based PC’s
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist in order to service equipment
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

    • Office environment with normal climate controls
    • Production environment with electrical hazards in-house and at customer sites

Travel Requirements:

      • Must be able to travel up to 75% of time to customer sites for service calls
