Job Overview
The Technical Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services under favorable terms for ANDRITZ Bitrode. This includes securing optimal pricing and quality, ensuring the correct quantity, and guaranteeing on-time delivery to the required location—all in alignment with the company’s Purchasing Policy and Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the efficient purchasing of technical goods and services to support company operations.
- Have understanding for quality systems and procedures to select reliable suppliers and materials.
- Ensure proper documentation/NDA with 3rd Party before sending out any technical/confidential information.
- Identifying, developing and qualifying new supplier required to support ANDRITZ demands. Supports supplier risk assessment exercises.
- Manage RFQs, analyze quotes, and negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to generate savings.
- Process purchase requisitions and make informed decisions based on cost, delivery, and quality.
- Ensures timely delivery, expedite orders as necessary and is responsible to manage and develop suppliers based on their on-time delivery and quality. Issue Non-Confirming Material (NCM) to suppliers for quality concerns and ensure corrective and preventive action from supplier is implemented.
- Maintains accurate purchasing, item and vendor records in SAP by updating vendor master and info records.
- Active communication with Engineering, Quality, Sales/Customer service department including affiliates and Project managers.
- Suggest process and cost optimization ideas and continuously improves procurement procedures and practices.
- Performs other purchasing related duties as needed.
Job Specific Competencies
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Experienced and confident negotiator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Electrical engineering or other related technical training and experience.
- Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings/prints.
Education and Professional Experience
-
- Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree in either Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science. Alternative an Associate or Bachelor degree in or Business, Procurement or Supply Chain together with a good knowledge of electrical components.
- At least five (5) years in procurement or electrical engineering.
- Demonstrated technical buying experience including electrical components.
