Software Release 4.14b
Software Enhancements
Component |
Description |
|
Zero calibration reporting has been added for current and voltage. |
| Modules may now be calibrated with no zero voltage or current calibration points. |
Configure Utility |
Offline Circuit Recovery Period has been added to the Server Settings page. This allows a user to set the time in seconds that the server will wait between retrying to connect to offline circuits. |
Program Editor |
New safety feature: When saving a program, the software checks to make certain every step has a limit condition that will exit the step. If the step does not, a warning is displayed and the user can choose to save the program as is, or to cancel the save activity. |
| New safety feature: Two options can now be selected for current and power. When this feature is turned on, control parameters for these types will default to zero instead of the default specified in the module database. |
Code changes continually as features are added; unfortunately sometimes bugs are introduced and may not reside in earlier versions. It is recommended that you check the list that follows before requesting an update.
Bug Fixes
Component |
Description |
Server |
In Emergency Data Recording, the first data buffer dump would be lost. This problem has been fixed. |
Calibration 2 |
"Current As Found" was mistakenly divided by the scale factor. This has been fixed. |
| The current target as actually used is now saved into the data file and is editable. This value is used in the report, not the default value. |
Quick Data View |
The Quick Data View application will no longer crash when scrolling to a last page that is short enough not to require scroll bars. |
Data Export |
Columns for assignable data fields now export with the field names they've been assigned to, not "Assignable Variable 1", etc. This behavior matches that of the Quick Data View export. |
| Numbers behind decimal points were not recorded properly in all cases. This bug has been fixed. |

Description |
| Client |
Lab
Client now supports up to 16 assignable data channels in support
of applicable Bitrode test circuits |
| Installation |
VisuaLCN
version upgrade installation is now fully automatic. Previous
version upgrades required the user to save settings and files
before manually removing oder versions, then restoring preference
settings and files. Version 4.06a upgrade installation, in most
cases, requires only that the user run the installation program. |
OS
Support |
With
the upgrade of the Windows Sockets version from 1.1 to 2.0, VisuaLCN
software, revision 4.06a or newer, will no longer run in a Windows
95 operating environment. Support for VisuaLCN products on the Windows
95 platform will continue until 15 February 2005. For more details
regarding system support, see Bitrode's
Software Support Policy. |

Description |
| Client |
The
"Open Profile Database" dialog, activated either in the
Network Overivew or the Start Formation windows, now defaults to
the Most Recently Used file. |
| The
Profile Database field in the Start Formation dialog now defaults
to the setting specified in the Client Program Database field, which

the default setting by changing the database path and the filename
after entering the password. |
| Quick

An
alternative "one sheet wide" printing method has been
added, available as a choice in the Quick Data View print dialog.

seconds for modules with 0.01 resolution. |

Software Release 4.02
Code
changes continually as features are added; unfortunately sometimes bugs
are introduced and may not reside in earlier versions. It is recommended
that you check the list that follows before requesting an update.
Bug Fixes
| Component |
Description |
| Client |
Group
views were updated in version 4.01 to flash if any circuit in the
group was in an alarm state. One alarm was missed (the "Black
Box Generic Mode" alarm), and a typo caused the use of an incorrect
constant for the "Fuse Blown" alarm. These problems have
been corrected. |
| NOTE:
This bug applies only to the New Generation (Bitrode model VCF circuit)
module. If a program created with a step "0" was started,
the program ran properly, but if the same program was modified,
and step 0 was removed, the program would crash the Client. To correct
this, The module firmware has been updated, and a check has been
incorporated into the code. |

window, an edit field allows users to enter the number of the desired
page. |

voltage, temperature, positive delta temperature or negative delta
temperature on the sequential selection of cell voltages. This is

Test
Notes were not being added to database when initiated from Start
Test window, also various related code changes were incorporated
to the Test Notes area. |
| The
Program Map has been updated to more accurately format time values
as hours : minutes : seconds and to be consistent with Program Editor.
Previously, time values would show as hours : minutes : seconds
in Program Editor but would sometimes show up as seconds in Program
Map for the same module type. |
| If
the user was working with a module that had Pulse Time On and Pulse
Time Off variables, an error message would appear when the user
opened Program Map. These variables would not display correctly
in Program Map. |
| Quick
Data View |
By
default when exporting a test from the Test window the file name
was created using the test name. If there was a space in the test
name when the .csv file was created, the program creates the file
name only using the text up to the first space in the name and omitted
the remainder of the text causing Excel unable to open the file.
Exporting now allows spaces in test names. |

In
the Test Notes window, if too much text was entered in the Notes
edit box, then text would scroll off the screen, the user was not
able to view all that was entered because there was no horizontal
scrollbar. |
| In
the Test Notes window, there was no limit to the amount of characters
typed into the text edit box. |
| The

contained a child group and a child circuit, deletion of the child
group made the circuit a sibling of the root group when it should
have been unchanged (Lab Client only). |
| Server |

Description |
| Client |
In
the Configure component, the "Data Acquisition Always Required"
Security is a new option. When set to True in the Security section,
the "Data Acquisition Required" checkbox in the Start dialog box
in Client is grayed out. The user is then not allowed to disable
data acquisition (Lab Client only). |
| Program
name and Circuit / Group name has been put on the Start Dialog title
bar. |
| Client
Control security was removed from the "Retreive Data From a Module"
operation. When Client Control security is set to TRUE it prohibits
another user from starting, stopping or reloading another program
in Client onto one started by the original user. However, it allows
the other user to see the data in Quick Data View or retreive data.
When disabled, it allows anyone to start, stop, resume the test,
reload another test or see the data in Quick Data View. Refer to
section 10 of the manual (Lab Client only). |
| Quick
Data View |
Export
Test Information, has been added to allows the user a choice of
exporting test information to a spreadsheet file along with the

Bug Fixes
| Component |
Description |
| Quick
Data View |
In
the Configure window, a user can select the Maximum Rows Per Export
File when exporting the data to a spreadsheet. The wrong number
of data samples, however, was being returned in the spreadsheet
files. |
| When
printing a single row, only one page would print when the row is
more than a page wide. This now prints as many pages as needed.
|
| The
Program section of the Test Properties window did not show the Program
Database when a test was selected. |
| The
Exclude feature was not functioning correctly. The number of records
chosen to be excluded from Quick Graph would often not be the ones
excluded. Instead, records from another test would be affected.
This has now been fixed so that the correct records chosen are excluded.
|
| Quick
Graph |
In
the Axis Properties window, the Grid Line Width list box which is
in the Major/Minor Grid Line groups, did not function correctly.
When a Grid Line Style other than solid was selected, the list box
is supposed to be disabled. However, it continued to be enabled
even after selecting a line other than solid. This behavior has
been corrected. |
| The
Axis Properties window did not populate the data showing the Maximum,
Minimum, Major Tick Space and Minor Ticks. After the OK button in
the Select Variables for Graph window is clicked and a new graph
is displayed, the Axis Properties window show the correct values.
|
| In
the New Graph window, where the graph is displayed, the X-axis started
at time of the first sample for "Total Time". It now starts at 0.
